rain in the face

sunday...5:50am camelback echo trail
up early this morning..had to get out here...rain in the desert is an event worth being part of - the rain reminds of times, as a child, we play outside comfortably as though celebrating the natural waterways - guess you could say we were taught well about the power of this element. it washes away debris, dust and dense clutter(thoughts) - it rejuvenates...the smell of wet ironwoods and damp soil is a 'rare' sense - its healing...its a reminder on how special a balance exist...smiling was my walk...all good now - lets do this!

“Water, water, water....There is no shortage of water in the desert but exactly the right amount , a perfect ratio of water to rock, water to sand, insuring that wide free open, generous spacing among plants and animals, homes and towns and cities, which makes the arid West so different from any other part of the nation. There is no lack of water here unless you try to establish a city where no city should be.” ― Edward Abbey
