the stronghold...

homeland...

home...

so we traveled home for the holiday weekend..was nice to be at a place where there clearly are difference in color, sounds, characters - even the family posture...it was great to be back in cottonwood - my home though there was a feeling of un-closed doors...or openings that leave many thoughts lingering...that combine with the anticipation of being 'home' was full of excitement and nervousness - both emotions colliding....a weird pound to say the least - the place has not change...perhaps i am the one who has, or have forgotton the simplicity of place...could be characterized as harsh and challenging  -i tend to lean towards living a honest simple life...
this place is home, a sacred sphere where mind spirit body comes together to grow with nature, the elements, the animals...

very happy to share a panel with phil weddle, aia, and jonathan robertson, asla - our presentation was deeply rooted in a landscape ethic - the topics of turning points, place making, cultural appropriateness, etc...quite engaging...
